Jesse W. Adams II, LSW, LCADC Credentialed Intern

Jesse is a Case Manager at SOBA College Recovery. He concurrently earned his Master’s Degree in Social Work and successfully completed the Addiction Counselor Training (ACT) program at Rutgers School of Social Work in 2017. A year earlier Jesse graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from Rutgers School of Social Work, which awarded him the Dean’s Recognition Award for Excellence in Baccalaureate Social Work Education. A lifelong interest in politics and social justice led Jesse to Rutgers’ Eagleton Institute of Politics, where he was one of only 25 students, and the only Social Work major, to graduate from Eagleton’s 2016 Undergraduate Associate class.
Before working at SOBA College Recovery, Jesse was at Journey to Wellness in Perth Amboy, NJ. He is a proponent of Motivational Interviewing and an avid reader of Jane Addams and Mary Richmond, pioneers in the field of social work.
Prior to becoming a licensed social worker, Jesse logged over 350 performances as “Dustin” in the European production of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Starlight Express, and performed with his punk band “sir” at New York City’s legendary rock club, CBGB’s. Jesse produced an independent feature film which earned $800,000 at the worldwide box office. Jesse, who is fluent in German, likes to travel and has visited 28 countries.
