Kelly Rose is a Primary Therapist at SOBA College Recovery. She attended Monmouth University for both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Social Work. While working towards her MSW, Kelly Rose realized her special interest in working with those in recovery from substance abuse, especially young adults.
As an undergrad, Kelly Rose worked in a halfway house and Intensive Outpatient Program where she facilitated groups for halfway house residents and IDRC-referred clients. As a graduate student, Kelly Rose gained further clinical and case management experience working with clients in the Young Adult, Dual Diagnosis and Senior Link Programs of a well-known treatment program, where she facilitated psychotherapy and psycho-educational groups for adults with a dual diagnosis of substance abuse and mood disorders.
Previous to working at College Recovery, Kelly Rose was employed by an adolescent and adult treatment program where she provided case management and individual, family and group therapy to adolescents and adults seeking treatment for mental health issues and substance abuse.
Kelly Rose applies elements of Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy in treating her clients. She strongly believes that therapy is most effective when the foundation of the therapeutic relationship balances compassion and acceptance with “keeping it real”.
In her free time, Kelly Rose enjoys getting exercise outdoors, cooking, traveling to new places, being with her three dogs and watching documentaries.
