Michele works as Clinical Coordinator at SOBA College Recovery. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology at The University of Arizona and went on to earn a Master of Social Work degree from Rutgers University. While at Rutgers Michele was part of the first cohort of students simultaneously completing the social work and addiction counselor training programs.
Michele’s professional experience includes individual, group, and family counseling services. Michele has worked in the field of addiction for several years as coordinator of an Intoxicated Driver Resource Center program and in a methadone clinic. She is also a New Jersey Certified Psychiatric Screener and most recently has worked in the psychiatric emergency room for Somerset County.
Michele believes in a strengths-based approach to therapy and utilizes both Motivational Interviewing techniques and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Michele believes in starting where the client is and she is continuously trying to smash the stigma that accompanies addiction and mental illness.
In her free time Michele enjoys spending time with her Chihuahua Ziggy Stardust, photography, exploring local thrift stores, and trying new recipes.
