Richard is a Primary Therapist at SOBA College Recovery. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology in 2013 from Rutgers University. Richard continued on to receive his Master’s Degree in Social Work from Rutgers with a focus in Addiction Counseling through the Rutgers ACT program. During this time, he worked as a clinical intern at the Booker Behavioral Health Partial Hospitalization Program through Riverview Medical Center, providing clients with case management services and group facilitation for Mental Health/Substance Abuse psychoeducation. Richard also worked as an ADC Intern at Corner House, an outpatient substance abuse treatment facility, providing clients with individual and group counseling services.
Richard utilizes Motivational Interviewing in order to elicit and enhance client motivation for commitment to change.
In his spare time, Richard enjoys listening to and playing music, nature walks, and occasional gaming.
